On the meeting of H.E. Ambassador of Russia to Saudi Arabia with H.E. Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council J. Al Budaiwi

His Excellency Mr. Sergey Kozlov, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, met with His Excellency Mr. Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), on Monday (February 27, 2023) at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Riyadh.

At the outset of the meeting, HE Mr. Kozlov congratulated HE Mr. Albudaiwi on the occasion of assuming his duties as Secretary General of the Cooperation Council, wishing him further success in his career.

During the meeting, HE the Secretary General affirmed the GCC's keenness to consolidate the strategic dialogue between the Cooperation Council and the Russian Federation in light of the Memorandum of Understanding concluded in November 2011. The meeting witnessed an exchange of views on a number of topics within the framework of GCC-Russian relations, and areas of cooperation between the two sides to achieve security and stability were also discussed. Additionally, the officials reviewed the latest developments at the regional and international levels, as well as topics of common concern.
